Resident Evil 7 Biohazard

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is the the harrowing homecoming of this survivor horror franchise. While Resident Evil 7 draws from the series’ roots of atmospheric survival horror, it also delivers a whole new level of terror. With the RE Engine plus industry leading audio and visual technologies, you experience every abhorrent detail up close and personal in Resident Evil 7. The game is set after the events of Resident Evil 6, taking place in modern day and revolving around a foreboding, derelict plantation mansion in rural America. Players must explore and survive the horrors within the mysterious, sprawling estate.

Gameplay

The player controls the protagonist, Ethan, from a first-person perspective. As with previous Resident Evil games, the player will have access to a variety of weapons including pistols, shotguns, flamethrowers, explosives and chainsaws in the fight against enemies described as mutant creatures. However, according to developers, players should not expect a “gun fest”. Other notable mechanics of previous Resident Evil games, including puzzle-solving, resource management, and healing herbs are also confirmed to appear in the game. Quick time events, on the other hand, will be entirely absent. The PlayStation 4 version of the game is also playable from start to finish in VR using the PlayStation VR headset, but the core gameplay mechanics will remain identical between both modes.

Story

The game is set in 2017, approximately 4 years after the events of Resident Evil 6 in the fictional city of Dulvey, Louisiana in the Southern United States. It features a new protagonist named Ethan Winters, a civilian who offers fewer combat skills than most previous Resident Evil main characters. Ethan is searching for his missing wife, Mia, which leads him to a derelict plantation mansion, home of the Baker family.

Although connections to previous games in the series will be made, the game will feature an entirely new cast of characters. The title of the game, which for the first time contains in it both the “Resident Evil” and “Biohazard” brand names of the series across all regions, is said to be a clue to what’s behind the game’s plot.
